Southeastern Indiana Funders Building Awareness of Aging

September 21,2009. New Albany, Indiana. Community, corporate and family foundation leaders gathered at the beautiful YMCA facility in New Albany, Indiana to spend time learning about and discussing the implications of the changing age demographics in southeastern Indiana and what this might mean for the philanthropic community and for donors. Marie Beason and Marissa Manlove of Indiana Grantmakers Alliance discussed the Indiana EngAGEment Initiative, a national project of Grantmakers in Aging, funded to build awareness about aging among Indiana funders. Phil Stafford provided a power point presentation discussing the demographic changes in SE Indiana, the AdvantAge survey for the area and the move towards a communit-based paradigm in the field of aging.
